In my long clay career I have never been able to copy anything from real life. For years I was critical of myself and my work, until I just let myself be me. Creating became a wonderful partnership of surprises between myself, and clay.
My transition from making dishes to building sculpture became a wonderful journey of imagination, flow and skill. I have learned to have no vision, to let the future unfold.
Clay has subconsciously taught me more about painting than art classes could. I have a lot to learn, but I paint as I would glaze.
